Hi!

Thanks,

Yes, you can network ANY MS OS together as long as all parties use the SAME protocol as the
basis for communication. I am using NetBIOS over IP and for my SOHO LAN and have no
problems with networking Win2K and WinME.

Definitely, install and configure tcp/ip properly with properly configured
NICs. You need a cross-over cable to link 2 systems directly when no hub or
router is present.

Keep in mind that W2K doesn't support anonymous logons by default (disabled
Guest account). So you need to create a user in W2K and log in as that user
from ME. Also remember to configure NTFS in the case W2K is using that file
system.

Use IPConfig to confirm NIC is properly installed and that the appropriate
ip is set.
Use PING to confirm physical connectivity over the tcp/ip network.
as an example:
192.168.0.1 subnet 255.255.255.0 for W2K
192.168.0.2 subnet 255.255.255.0 for ME

Same workgroup name on both systems
