File search on a Windows 2000 Pro machine to a network share for spreadsheets
containing text: 2418766 only finds 3 entries and when a search is one on a
Windows XP machine in the same network share using the option: a word or
phrase in the file: 2418766 finds 15 entries. How can I enable the Windows
2000 machines to obtain the same results as the XP machines?

Thanks in advance!

It may be due to the default settings in a Win2K search. WinXP automatically
searches subfolders but this feature must be selected in Win2K. It's listed in
Advanced Options.

I have tried using the advance options to search subfolders with no luck as
well.

Thanks.

Hi Eurkie,

Install Agent Ransack and you will never use the archaic Windows Search again.
