I have no info in the systems information box under
tools. The right pane says that it cannot access the
Windows Management Instrumentation software. Windows
Management may have been moved or missing. Those are
*.nfo files I think and there are no system nfo's on my
machine? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi,

Start/run services.msc and scroll down to WMI and double click it. See that
the service is running and that it is set to automatically load at startup.

Hello,
I appreciate the effort, unfortunately that isn't it.
That is one of the reasons that this whole thing has me
baffled. I hadn't noticed anything unusual going on with
my system. I tried to install a program that gave me some
problems and I stumbled across the thing. Any other
suggestions would be helpfull and appreciated. Thank you!

Hi,

Might sound silly, but try disabling that service, set it to not load at
startup, then reboot. Reenable the service and restart once more.

Hey Rick,
Thanks for the effort I got home this afternoon and went
ahead and did a repair re-install of xp pro, no problem
now. Still kind of wierd though and I'll be watching it
real close to see what's up. Now after adding my Intel
application accelerator this afternoon I open up my
computer my Plextor CD-R-CD-RW and My Pioneer DVD-RW just
show as cd-roms but my device drivers in the systems file
in control panel shows what they really are, I've a new
mission now. I've tried just about all I can think of,
uninstall, update drivers, let XP install and reinstall
and still the same result. Don't know if I should post
this prior to reading a few hundred posts so Im off to do
just that. You take care Rick and THANKS for your help.
Brent
