I hava Yahoo (pop) account configured into Windows Mail. For the past 3 weeks
I can receive mail but when I send it either does not go through or take
hours to send. It shows that the mail has left the outbox right away though.
This is driving me crazy, I really like Windows Mail but this is becoming a
real inconvenience, I may have to go back to Outlook. My computer is a DELL
and I'm on Vista. Please help. Thanks.

Are you paying extra for a Yahoo account that will do pop, or have you
installed YPOPs? Or are you using a Yahoo account based outside the
US which does not require you do either?

i am paying extra to have the service. Everything worked fine until a few
weeks ago.When I log in directly to Yahoo I can send mail right away.

You may have to report this problem to Yahoo then.

Make sure your account settings are configured like this:

Note the use of port 465 and SSL for sending.
Also, which antivirus are you using?
