Cannot send mail

Hi,
I have been sending and recieving mail with Windows mail fine, for months.
Then since last week I cannot send mail and recieve this error message:

An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'hola', Account: 'pop', Server:
'mail.mymallorcaguide.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 26, Secure(SSL): No, Error
Number: 0x800CCC0B

I have tried changing the port number to 587, and the message in my outbox
went, but after that I could not send anymore mail.
My ISP is Movistar, but I have always been with them, and haven't had a
problem until now. Also I have Norton Protection on my computer, but have
also always had this.
My mail accounts are for a website hosted my hostmoonster, I had tried
change the outging mail server to movistar and the mail left my outbox and
appeared to have been sent. But on sending some test emails I realised these
wern't arriving at the destinations.
Hope you can help,
Thanks,
Emma

Since the account appears to be working sporadically, and has worked OK for
a long time.
Even though you have had Norton for ever, they update it regularly, that is
what causes the problem if you have email scanning enabled in Norton.
The account is probably corrupted?
The solution is generally to remove the account completely, after noting all
the settings, at tools>accounts>remove. Close and reopen WM, and rebuild the
account with the settings that worked prior to you altering them.

I am curious why you are using port 26 instead of the standard port 25.
I would like to see what error message you get with port 25.
