windows mail wont work

i have my yahoo and hotmail accounts set up on windows mail and i keep
getting error msgs like this Subject '', Account: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com',
Server: 'smtp.mail.yahoo.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '250
8BITMIME', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 250, Error Number:
0x800CCC7D and this as well Account: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com', Server:
'pop.mail.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR popgate unknown
command', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number:
0x800CCC18


Can some one please help this is gettin very annoying

Vista and the Windows Mail app does not work with web based email accounts
such as hotmail, yahoo etc. You should use the Windows Live Mail app. You
will have to signup for it (search from the start circle and you will find)
and then you will be directed. I have successfully linked web based email
accounts using this.

Please note this [ Windows Live Mail ] is a beta version.

my windows mail won't work either it keeps asking for a SMTP sever address
but i don't know what it is can anyone help?

Please don't jump in to a discussion thread started by someone else.
Always start a new conversation when first reporting your issue.

You will need to get the name of your SMTP server from your Internet
Service Provider (ISP) or your mail provider. They usually have a website
that has that information listed. Alternatively, you can tell us who
provides your Internet and mail service, and we can probably find that
server information for you.
