Windows mail with Gmail

I seemed to have successfully tied together my gmail account to my windows
mail. However, when i send out an email to someone i get the same email
copied to me in my windows mail inbox. i dont get anything in my gmail
account. everything seems to be fine there.

so instead of my sent mail going into the sent mail folder it just sends it
as a new email to myself.

please help.
