Windows Mail -v- Windows Live Mail

I am considering moving from XP Pro x64 to Vista 64, apart from better
driver support my main reason is the integration of email/calendar/contacts.

I get the feeling that MSFT is pushing Windows Live Mail although so far I
have been unable to find enough information to discover if it is a local
app or one of these dreadful webmail things like Hotmail.

Is Windows Mail likely to continue to exist in the future or will it be
dumped in favour of Windows Live Mail?

It's likely to continue to exist, but without any support from Microsoft.

If you'd like to download Windows Live Mail, see here:

It's not webmail; it's an email/newsreader program similar to Windows
Mail except that it adds support for the HTTP protocol and is being
supported by Microsoft.

If you need more help for Windows Live Mail, try newsgroup:
