Where do I download Windows Live Mail Desktop version like Windows

I recently discovered that the addresses in Windows Mail only auto completes
29 address. Dave suggested that I download Windows Live Mail the desktop
version (not hotmail which apparently I am confusing it with). What is the
website to download Windows Live Mail Desktop and is it free?? Please give me
a link to the website, I cannot find it and I am confused. Right now I have
Windows Mail Desktop that comes with Windows Vista. So I want the desktop
windows live version, please let me know if you know the link for it?

Okay is this the same as Windows Live Hotmail? Because when I look at that
site,it looks to me like its internet email and not desktop email.

I already have windows live messanger etc.

Windows Live Mail is the successor for Outlook Express and Windows Mail
(Vista). It is /not/ the same as Windows Live Hotmail.

The terms "internet email" and "desktop email" are confusing; that is not
common terminology.

There is much confusion over these two apps. If you already downloaded and
installed Windows Live Mail, you should have an icon on your desktop by the
name Windows Live Mail. Alternatively, it may be in a folder called Windows
Live Essentials at Start - All Programs. This accesses the same mailbox as
Hotmail but is not the same application. It's general appearance looks more
similar to Outlook or Outlook Express if you are familiar with either of
those - no pictures or cutesy ad-like boxes all over the window. When open,
you can access Help - About Microsoft Windows Live Mail - and should see
version number 14.0.8089.0726 in the first line.

The only way to truly reach Hotmail is by going through your browser
(Internet Explorer, etc.). It is possible you have a shortcut to it on your
desktop as well - complicating matters more. When that program is open, it
presents its own confusion because it reads (across the top left) "Windows
Live Mail" AND has "Hotmail" below it. But it's general appearance is quite
different with a lot of ad-like boxes across the top and right side.

I said "etc." . . . . .

slk759 is wrong with the statement quoted below. Hotmail can be
accessed by any email program including Windows Mail, Thunderbird, WLM,
Seamonkey etc.

Okay, maybe I didn't state that very well, should have said "Windows Live
Hotmail" . . . . While you can access the various Hotmail accounts (.msn,
..live, .hotmail, etc.) from most email clients, you can't open the Windows
Live Hotmail program in email clients like WM, WLM, TB, etc. - that is done
via the browser.
