I would like to uninstall Windows Works and replace all of Works' functions
with those of Microsoft Outlook. For example, the contacts folder. I would
like to use Outlook for this instead of Works because I use Outlook for
e-mail and calenders. Now...under program deafaults I have set Outlook as
the default to open vCards, but explorer still opens Works. Even more so I
cannot use Program Uninstall in the Control Pannel. What is happening?

Can I even uninstall Windows Works and used Outlook instead? How?

Under 'Control Panel|Default Programs|Set your default programs', make sure
Microsoft Office Outlook is set as the default program and that it has all
it's defaults. As to Works, does it appear in Add/Remove? If it does, what
happens when you try to uninstall it, any error messages?

Did you look in the Control Panel applet "Programs and Features"
for Microsoft Works? It is not named Windows Works.

yes, I know its now I must have made a typo, sry

There are generally two ways to uninstall:

1. Run the Setup application on the Install disk and select "Remove", if it
gives you that option.
2. If the application was installed with Windows Installer, but can't be
uninstalled from Add/Remove programs, the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
may help:

Your subject refers to Windows Mail and Outlook 2008. The latter does not
exist.

The body of your mail is about "Windows Works" (Microsoft Works?).

Could you clarify?
