When I go into windows mail - tools -accounts to perform any changes to my
dial up service, I cannot change tabs in the accounts window and it
eventually shows not responding. Have I somehow locked me out? How might I
get it to allow me to work with it again? I am setting up a new Dell
computer using Vista.
Thanks, Tom

Did you click the account you want to change and then Properties?

I did. It opens up but I cannot navigate in it. It just locks up and
won't
respond.
I may have heard of a program with SMS in its name that comes with
most Dell computers, but often causes enough problems it must be
uninstalled.

Robert, your first response got me thinking. I went in and set up a new
connection that allowed me to navigate the "accounts" tab. Went through
renaming the account, eliminating the dial up that wouldn't work then
renaming the new account to match. Works great now. Thanks for getting my
mind working the right direction.

You're welcome.

Before this had you removed Norton, McAfee or Trend?

I didn't have to remove anything. I think the error started with setting up
the dial up account initially. Without messing with it again, I believe that
the account name has to be exactly the same in windows mail and in network
connections. If the names aren't exactly alike, you cannot navigate the
settings in windows mail/tools/accounts/properties.
