Windows Mail stealing Browser Mail

D

DLowry

When ever I open Windows Mail, it downloads any new messages I have. Then if
I go to view my mail through a browser, the same mail it downloaded has
disappeared. I have tested sending an email from one account to another. If I
stay out of Windows Mail, the email will remain in the account. However, if
as soon as I open Windows Mail, it downloads the mail, and any attempt to
view the mail through a browser is not possible. Any ideas?

DLowery,

This is the 'normal' way a mail client works. You can alter this behavior
by doing the following:

Select Tools->Accounts
under Mail, select your email account
then press the Properties button
select the Advanced tab
check the 'Leave copy of messages on server' option
click Apply

This way, Vista Mail won't remove the messages from the server and they will
be available to your browser.

Hope this helps...

Dick
