Hi I can recieve my gmail through windows mail but not send mail and I think
its due to supporting SMTP authentication. I have windows vista home .. any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Tools - Accounts - (gmail account) Properties - Servers - Outgoing - check
the box for My server requires authentication

You might also want to go back and double check your settings by looking at
the instructions on GMail's page for setting up Outlook Express with GMail.
