I have my windows mail account set up to receive my aol (imap?) mail. My
inbox says I have 34 unread messages and 425 total, but there are only a few
and none are unread. I believe I have all the correct settings such as 'view
all messages', etc., and have gone to aol and checked all my folders and they
match what I can actually see in Windows mail. So what's with my inbox
stating I have more messages? It's driving me crazy!

Is the AOL account set up correctly under Windows Mail?

What if any antivirus programs do you have? Some of them tend to
cause assorted problems in Windows Mail, although seldom immediately.

Yes, everything appears to be set up properly. I use Avast for virus
protection.
