Cannot send or receive email. Always receive error message when Windows Mail
tries to connect to ISP server. Nothing wrong with ISP provider, problem lies
with Microsoft Host Name. I always receive error message displaying "Socket
error 10061, error number OX800CCCOE". Does anyone know what Microsoft
screwed up this time?

Microsoft doesn't provide a "Microsoft Host Name", whatever that is.
If you want some help, you will need to supply the complete error message,
not just some fragment of it. Right-click on your error message, copy, then
paste it into a reply here.

"Microsoft Host Name" is the name your internet service provider requires for
you to be able to get your email messages. In the case of Windows Mail, it's
"www.microsoft.com". If your email program does not make the host name
available, you will not be able to connect to your IPS and cannot get your
mail. That is the problem I was having with Windows Mail. I kept recieving an
error message that started by saying "finding host name failed", followed by
"socket error 10061, error number OX800CCCOE". I suspect the problem was
caused by the Windows updates I had installed the day before. After
uninstalling them, my Windows Mail program now works fine.

Where exactly do you think this is requested?

Probably not, even if you are an employee of Microsoft.

If your email program does not make the host name
available,

Email clients don't "make host names available". The accept specified mail
server names.
you will not be able to connect to your IPS and cannot get your
mail.

Are you referring to the mail server name?

This usually means that you've entered the mail server name incorrectly.
The URL you specified above is *not* a mail server name.
