windows mail problem

i can not send or recive mail someone please help me

it says the host smtp could not be found. please verify that you have entered
the server name correctly. and thin i went to the help screen and did what it
said but it steal havent worked

You'll probably have to get your internet provider's instructions
for setting up to use their email servers. If they haven't written
instructions for Windows Mail, use the instructions for Outlook
Express but under Windows Mail instead. The instructions are
probably somewhere on their web site. Or you could tell
us who your internet provider is and see if anyone here already
knows where to find the instructions.

If that doesn't work, show us the full error messages you get
if any when you try to send or receive.

Also, what if any antivirus programs do you have?

"smtp" is not a valid host name. You should ask your email provider (who
is probably also your internet provider) for instructions for entering the
email account information. If they haven't written instructions for Windows
Mail yet, use the instructions for Outlook Express, but under Windows
Mail instead. The instructions are probably somewhere on their web site.
Or, you could tell us who your email provider is and see if anyone here
already knows where to find the instructions.

it says subject just want information account imap server smtp protocol smtp port 25 secure ssl yes socket error number 0x800cc0d

SSL and port 25 seldom go together so check what happens if
you turn off SSL.
