Every time I bring up Windows Mail on my new laptop, it asks me for my
server user ID and password. I check the box that says to remember my
certifications (password and ID), but the next time I bring up Windows Mail
I am asked again. I am also asked for server ID and password if I do a
send/recieve request if I cancelled the first request for server ID and
password. The request for ID and password is from Windows Security and may
not be from Windows Mail. How do I stop the request for my server ID and
password?
Thanks

That could be a problem caused by an incompatible AV Application? Such as
Norton, McAfee etc. What do you use?

Norton antivirus is among the top three troublemakers for Windows Mail.
Symptoms often don't start until months later.
The only way you can prove or disprove that Norton is the culprit is to
uninstall it, followed by using their debris removal tool:

Another option is to upgrade to Windows Live Mail, which is more
resistant to the adverse effects of aggressive antivirus products:

In any case you must disable any antivirus email scanning, for the reason
explained here:

Norton, McAfee and Trend will all break mail programs. So will email
scanning in any other program.

I am having the same problem. I use Norton. How do I fix it?

I disabled McAfee for scanning incoming email and IM. Problem has gone
away.

Thanks to everybody for the help.

Amazing how knuckling down the antivirus fixes Windows Mail!
Thanks for your feedback.
