Windows Mail not working

I posted to the below thread re. Outlook and realized that it's better if I
started my own.

When I open it WM I get no incoming and this is the message I get...
Ett okänt fel har uppstått. Konto: 'pop.bredband.net', Server:
'pop.bredband.net', Protokoll: POP3, Port: 110, Secure (SSL): Nej, Felnummer:
0x800C0148

I also have no access to the contents of my folders. If I right click on the
folders and look at properties I see that there are messages in the folders,
but I have no access to them.

My old laptop running Outlook is sitting on my desk now so I can work, but I
need to get at the msgs in WM in my new computer. Why is it doing this and
what do I need to do to have the dependibility I had w/ Outlook Express. And
please don't tell me that I have to disable mail scanning functions. What M$
needs to do is enable it's software!

If you feel that mail scanning functions by 3rd party applications are not
the cause, then go here and search on your error message?

Use the input fields wisely.

What internet security software are you running? I just finished a
several-day hair-tearing episode to find that the security software I was
using had somehow been changed to block access to my mail service. The error
message I got was close to what you showed. At any rate, reconfiguring to
change blocked to allow solved the problem for me.

Security software that is 'dumb' enough to block your email program
doesn't deserve to be on your computer!

It wasn't MS OneCare was it, by any chance?

I doubt it. My betting money is on Norton. :)
