windows mail not sending

can recieve email but outgoing pops up error box which reads:.............
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)]'. Subject 'Primetime
Identity', Account: 'pop-server.tx.rr.com', Server: 'smtp-server.tx.rr.com',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553 Invalid address syntax', Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 553, Error Number:
0x800CCC79................... Any help to fix this problem?

Try deleting that outgoing message, and trying again with the ] removed from
the address you are sending to.

If it still fails, check if your setup is correct:

What happens if you take away the ] character in the address?

What happens if you try to remove the ] character from that address?
 
I had this problem and went to microsoft .com under support and searched for
windows mail There was an update which I downloaded that fixed this problem.
