After having one message that couldn't be sent, resulting in an error
message, I have sent and received many messages. My Windows Mail is working
fine. But I keep getting the same two messages from the original incident -
The error message plus the message that "I have unsent messages in my outbox.
Do you want to send now?"
Since this is the Email that caused the Error Message, I'm in a Star Trek
loop.-
How do I get out of it? These two messages occur at every move I make.
Thanks Wayne-

Try this... http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/Default.aspx

Those who follow the instructions have had success with it.

Thank both of you. As a novice I'm stuck again. I downloaded the WMUtil file
(actually I was expecting 2 as per download instructions) and don't know how
to run it.
It's a web address that returns me to the DL page. What am I missng? Thanks,
Wayne

Brink. Looked at that page. I only have the 1 file - WNUtil. Can't find the
sxout.
What is meant by extracting to another folder? And I don't have "Winmail" in
Task Manager.
Thanks, Wayne.

Brink. Hold off on a reply just yet. Found what I'm seeking in a Vista book.
About compressd folders and extraction. If I get stuck I'll be back. Thanks
again, Wayne

The wmutil.zip file has two files in it. Unzip those two files to the
desktop. Then click on the wmutil.exe file to run the program.

Steve, Only one file downloaded - "WMUtil". I can't find the "scxout",
which I believe I should have. I deleted and tried a few times with the same
luck.
One thing - when downloading, "open" caused my window to start flashing
and I had no option but to shut down and restart. The same thing happened
when I tried to download an icon from "How to Geek". I had to choose "save".
In simple terms - How do I accomplish my aim? The website you gave was
vague.
I have some good Vista books. What should I look under?
Incidently, I was able to delete my outbox message ( that started this
mess), but the Error msg persists. Thanks, Wayne

-- Is it Brink or Shawn? Tried your link again. It downloaded to my
"downloads" folder. I clicked to run and my window went berserk and I had to
shut down and restart. Only one file showed - WMUtil.zip
As per your "clearer instructions, they are only clear to someone who
already knows what they're about. I was at this site previously and got
bogged down because "Winmail.exe" is not in Task Manager. As per the
instructions, when I tried to run it ( Step 3) that's when I had to shut down.
What now? Thanks for your concern. Wayne. PS - When I downloaded this
same thing another time it was a website and "run" kept sending me back to
where I got it.

Rt Click on the zip file and select extract all. Choose a folder when
prompted.
..winston

Only one file showed - WMUtil.zip

As Winston indicated, you need to open up the zip file and extract the two
files from it (e.g. to the Desktop). Then you can run the program. See
also the part in red on the website.

Brink. I have it figured out from the "extract" step, so we can let that
rest. But computer still goes nuts when I try to open. Did have that problem
with an icon once recently. Comes out OK with Avast. Any suggestions? Thanks,
Wayne

Brink. Followed link instructions and got the black administrator box, which
stopped everything right then. My computor is jinked! No instructions I get
work; not only for this problem but others I have on the go. Followed "How to
Geek" on removing idiotic, redundant arrow on desktop shortcuts and now have
large white folders in place of arrows. This was the other case where my comp
went nuts.
As to your other Qs, I have no other zip files or any other related prog
to do with zip that didn't come with my machine. Except for a few cds there
is nothing saved. My computer is a virgin.
A new problem - I'm not getting notification from these sites although I
clicked yes to receive. My Email is otherwise working.
Is there a way out of my mess? Do appreciate your help. Thanks, Wayne

Brink. Thanks for everything. I have some pondering to do as to my next
course. My problems are many and irritating but reinstalling? That's drastic.
I have the disc and know how if I must.
For now I'll let you off the hook on this thread and you can help other,
more pressing, Vista owner's needs.
PS - Did I tell you that Dell reneged on their part of the contract that I
signed? There is no such thing as "next business day in house service for
one year". That is their main selling gimmick, but they lie! Tell everyone
you know, please.
See you in another thread. Wayne

Brink. I'm back. Tried your link for arrow fix. My problem was a white folder
which needed Version 1:0 or so I'm guessing. Only Version 1:3 (for a black
folder) was on your link, so I said " what the hell" and tried it. Now my
white folders are gone but the arrows are back. Where is V 1:0 to be found?
Will it get rid of the arrows? Thanks, Wayne. PS - My notification is back.

Brink. Correction. I meant "black box" , not "folder". Your link refers to
this black box and gives 1:3 as the fix. It gives 1:0 as another fix for the
white folder glitch (or so it seems) but this fix - 1:0 - is not on your
link. The white folder and black box issues are a running issue in "Geek" .
They are 2 seperate issues with 2 different fixes. I'm confused. I need this
alternate fix - 1:0 - for a stupid arrow problem. Thanks, Wayne.

A couple of years ago Dell tried to renege on the warranty coverage
I had on a Dell laptop. I filed official complaints with the State Attorney
General and the Better Business Bureau. Dell came around to see
things my way.

Brink,
Finally got rid of the arrows with your Frameworkx fix. Don't quite know
how as I was juggling advice from 3 different sources with 3 different fixes.
It got confusing.
Yours was the answer. One thing - can I disable or delete this fix now
that I don't need it? Thanks, Wayne

Gary,
Thanks for the tidbit about Dell and your laptop. I'll file it in away.
BestBuy was just in the news for doing something. Bait and switch I believe.
No reply necessary.
Thanks for your time, Wayne.
