windows mail deleting messages from server

Windows Mail deleting messages from server. I go to Tools, Accounts, then
Advanced. I have checked leave a copy of message on server. However the
e-mails get deleted from the server right away. this recently started
happening and I have no idea why.

Some email providers ignore requests to leave a copy of the messages you
download on the server. If I remember correctly, gmail.com is one of them.

Also, some antivirus programs cause assorted problems in Windows Mail,
although seldom immediately, so what if any antivirus programs do you have,
and have you ever had a Norton or McAfee antivirus program on that
computer, even a trial version?

Please explain how you ascertained that emails were deleted from the server.
Which particular server?
