Windows mail and outlook

When I click on email address microsoft outlook opens up rather than windows
mail and I cannot email unless I copy and paste and go thru windows mail. How
can I correct problem? I believe my windows mail is set as my default mail.

Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows
Mail". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.

Go to Control Panel | Default Programs | Associate a file type or protocol .
.. . and then page down to the mailto protocol and set WinMail as default.
