When I download messages containing avi, mpeg, etc attachments, the
attachments appear only as inline text. They cannot be decoded and combined
or played in Windows Media Player. Individual photos e.g., jpg do appear as
attachments as well as appearing inline.

Windows Mail does not support yEnc encoding. If they are yEnc encoded you
will have to get a decoding add-on or use a news program that supports yEnc.

Sorry, I wasn't inquiring about yEnc encoded files. The display of files
inline occurs with the first .wma, .mpg files of a series, which appear as
inline-binary data and not as file attachments.
