I assume that you want Windows to log you on automatically,
without prompting you for a password. If so then you can do
this:
- Click Start / Run / control userpasswords2 {OK}
- Click Silverfox
- Untick the box that requires you to enter a password
- Click OK
- Enter your current password when prompted.

I followed above but when re-started again it showed the same logon box
with my password and a error message that says it can not logon me on
automactilly because of a error, what to do now?

That's probably because you entered an incorrect password
when you set up the automatic logon process. Try again with
the correct password!

I re-did it and the result is the same, I tried to logon with my older
password, and new password, lower case and upper case and no results. I
noticed that when I clicked ok after the *run* box, that my user name
shows together with the administrator, which I am and when I uncheck the
user password box it grays out both names because both belong to the adm
group, how can I be sure that am applying the right password?
It all started because my original HD went kaput and just installed a
new one and I do believe that I did use this new pass, which consists of
2 letters+2 numbers+2 letters+2 numbers+2 letters, I tried it lower
case-upper case with no results, what now? is there any way to locate my
pass without having to format and re-installing winxppro??

The usual method is to log on under the alternative
admin account which you previously set up in anticipation
of such an event. If you did not then you have to boot the
machine with a boot disk from here:
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html
and use it to reset your admin password to a blank.

The domain name prompt appears if your machine was
connected to an office domain at some stage. If so then
you need to click the "Options" button at the logon panel
so that the drop-down box for the domain names becomes
visible. In that drop box you should see the local name
of your computer. Select it, then use your local logon name
and password. If you do not remember what it is then you
have to ask the network administrator of your office.

asking my adm (myself).

Problem has been resolved thru *Tweak UI XP*, it seems that is some
problem with my password, maybe that bootdisk that you wrote about will
help with that, emailed the guy, waiting for an answer.

I find it difficult to see how you could resolve your problem
with TweakUI. This tool requires you to log on, yet you
kept claiming that you could not log on. Strange . . .

I would not hold my breath while waiting for an answer from
Mr. Nordahl. Not only is this freeware but his boot disk has
been used by millions of people round the globe. He'd be a
very busy man answering every EMail query.

I mean loging on as in the act of booting up, you come by the popup box

If you are able to log on with a blank password then you
can change your password at any time after logging on,
even without TweakUI. Click Start / Help and search
for "Password" to see how it's done.

You can download the Nordahl boot disk tool from the site
whose address I gave you. There is no need to ask anyone
for assistance. However, you do not need it since you are
able to log on.
