My wife's Uncle a widower recently passed on. My wife and I have to help settle his estate. He bought a new
computer before Christmas but I don't know the Windows Logon Password. I need to boot the system up and check
to see if there are important documents and photos that should be saved before formating the hard drive and
offering the system for sale. How can i get around the logon password?

Hi Rick,
first of all, you are in the wrong newsgroup.
But there is a Linux Programm, which you can change the Password!
Sorry but I dont know the name, but maybe it will help you, that there is a
chance!

Sorry I know I posted to the wrong News Group as soon as I hit the send key. However I have obtained many
helpfull suggestions in the appropriate Groups. I have the program on the Ultimate Boot CD it is called
"Offline NT Password & Registry Editor".
Thanks, Rick
