Hi Randy,

FWIW. My version did`nt show any interest in offering the update by way of
the application either. Had to download it from the site.

Thanks, Stu - appreciate the info. Strange how some are automatically offered
the update and others are not.

Windows Live Messenger on my other computer did NOT pop up a message to
tell me to update but if you click on the icon "Go to Windows Live"- it
opens a box and on the right side it will say Windows Live Messenger 8.1 is
available. If you click on that it will automatically setup an install for
the program.

It's a bug, Robin, this is sometimes offered to some users and others not.
I'm sure if there's ever another update or upgrade, you will hear about it
here.

I am currently running 7.5 version on Vista, everything works well except
when trying to add webcam settings!??! Anyway, with 8.1: I download it (from
microsoft or msn) but once finished it doesn't open at all! The icons are
there, but it doesn't run. Any suggestions?
