Windows is NOT starting successfully.

Hi,
As of yesterday, whenever i try to start my Windows XP computer, this
error message appears:

"We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully.
A recent hardware or software change may have caused this.

If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was
automatically shut down to protect yor files, choose Last Known Good
Configuration.\

If a previous startup attempt was interrupted due to a power failure or
because the Power or Rest button was pressed or if you aren't sure what
caused the problem, choose Start Windows normally."

I have tried every option including pressing F8 and rebooting, and rebooting
in safe mode. This error message keeps appearing and i REALLY need help.

Thank You,

Thank You,

The easiest way to resolve this issue is by using System Restore
to return the machine to its condition before the problem started.
If you cannot boot it in Safe Mode then you could use the
restore method described here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545

This is not a trivial process and unless you have experience with
such things, you may want to ask a friend to assist you.

I have tried every option including pressing F8 and rebooting...

Unless you mistyped, that is the wrong order. Reboot and tap F8 frequently
while the computer is starting up again until you see the Advanced Boot
Options Menu where LKGC is listed.

Reply:

This also starting happening to me on the same date.
The computer also deleted ALL system restore points prior & since then.
(so that is not an option)
If your problem is fixed, please post what fixed it.
Thanks so much.
