Does anyone know how to delete the following:

When I go to use my local cable ISP, close out all the
window boxes with advertisements, I end up with a blank
light colored yellowish screen. I right click on the
screen, go into PROPERTIES and get the above web site but
I cannot get rid of it. As a result I cannot get back to
my desktop.

I have called my local cable ISP and everything is okay
with their connections, etc. They said it is a MICROSOFT
SOFTWARE issue.

HELP!!!!

Change your homepage manually also.
Open IE, Tools->Internet Options
Change the homepage from the random big long one that is
in there to something you know isn't junk.

If you use Alt+Tab you can see your desktop again, but
when you click on the IE window in the bottom it just
fills the screen with that ad, it's just a webpage that
the size is cranked up on so you can't see your desktop at
all. You can ALT+CTRL+DEL to get rid of it, or you can
Alt+F4 it away.

Do what purplehaz says but you might want to manually
change the homepage also.

You have "spyware" on your system.

What happened is that when you were downloading some SW, and you
didn't pay attention to the agreement you signed, it installed a
program to annoy the shit out of you and shove adds down your throat.

If you go to www.lavasoft.com and download "adaware" that will fix
MOST of the spyware problems on your computer, but NOT this one. I
have the same problem, and I think it's because I just installed
Overnet. Do you use Overnet? What are the programs you recently
installed? I tried a few demo games, Hitman is one of them. Let me
know what you last installed, and we can compare notes.

Anyhow - there is an easy way to get around spyware. Don't use
Internet Explorer, use Netscape or more properly Mozilla - it's
essentially immune to it. Don't open ANY IE windows, because the
second you do, the spyware will start running in the background too.

Eventually Lavasoft will figure out a way to remove this, but until
then, just sit tight and use another browser. Opera works too.
