windows installer keeps poping up

i have a 3 yr old dell with xp..recently..my mcafee antivirus had gotten
turned off..ended up with like 30 viruses..had to go to site..reinstall
software..then afterward ran a full scan...deleted viruses..and potentally
unwanted programs..did a scan disc..ok..defrag..plus a window wash
program...now i keep gettin windows installer poping up every time i click an
app or even click the start tab sometimes..it just sits there frezing my
computer untill i do con alt del..then i have to go to process then end
process...then will go away ..but if i click on explorer it flashes (windows
installer) real quick like 10- 15 times but wont stay..ill browse or go to
click an xtra page..the it will pop up againstarting over again...and i
cannot do a restore...every time i do it says it cant complete....tried
turning off my mcafee to help via advise from help and support menu...i
really dont want to reboot wondows but i will if i have to...any help would
be great....thanks!
