Hi JMensah,
Any idea what is it trying to install/repair?
Click Start, Run and type eventvwr.msc
Select the "Application" log
Look for the recent entries with the source column containing "MsiInstaller"
Double-click the entry for more details.
It may show the product name for which the installation/repair took place

In some cases, the application name may not be available, but the ProductCode will be available. You can then map the ProductCode with the actual product name using the steps listed in this article:

Windows® Troubleshooting

Everytime I click on Windows Explorer to surf the Net, a window installer
window pops up a message "wait while Windows Installer configures..." for
about 30 seconds and then I get to surf the web.
Secondly, I can't seem to load or reinstall any programs progarms because
windows installer gives me this message:
"this patch package could not be opened. verify that it exists and that you
can access it..."
