Windows installer and soundcard

Hi. Thanks for reading. When I turn on my computer, Windows installer starts
installing this update for Microsoft office. When I click cancel, the little
"preparing to install" box pops right back up, no matter how many times I
click cancel. If I go to the Windows task manager, I can turn Windows
installer off. All the same, this glitch is driving me up the wall. Is there
any way to get this feature to stop trying to install this update that it
won't even let me install since I don't have the original CD to use in
conjunction with it?

Also, how do I tell precisely what soundcard I have on my computer?

Didn't you ask this question about the installer yesterday?

For the sound card question run one of these inventory tools:

AIDA32 http://www.aumha.org/freeware.htm

Belarc Advisor http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

Yes, I asked the question. However, no one answered it. So I figured I
should try again.

Best to stay in the same thread, just reply to it and say it's your second
post.

I don't get it. Reply Group is the only way I can reply to the same thread
with my software. The reply doesn't work--a get an error message saying not
sent or something. Here I'll try it again after I do this.

Are you suggesting that you don't have any idea what I can do to fix my
problem? If so, could you at least tell me where to find the windows
installer? Thank you for your consideration.
