Based outside of Houston, I have a customer with branch offices scattered
around Texas & Oklahoma.
Recently at the Tulsa office, the computers have had the Windows Genuine
Advantage Notification pop up start.
The user has just been hitting the resolve later button, but this is a
concern to me. The computers were already there when I started working with
this company & they aren't sure where they came from.
I thought you had to validate XP within 30 days of installation, or it would
stop working & these computers are way more than 30 days old.
What will happen if I tell them to hit the "Get Genuine" button?
Could this be a pirated copy of XP?
What should I (or my customer ) do?
At first glance, it doesn't appear that any of the cases have the sticker on
them that comes with an OEM version...
