I'm trying to diagnose a badly hosed WinXP laptop. I've already scanned for viruses &
malware.
After boot, I get a screen that says "Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications -
Installation Wizard". (I'm assuming that the user had selected this install from Windows
Update). Problem (well, it's just one of the problems) is that 2/3rds of the way through
the install, the computer completely freezes (ctl-alt-del won't work) and needs to be
powered down.
Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to remove the WGA notification installation wizard from
this laptop?
