windows freezes

Hi I am having trouble with my computer that freezes for
no apparent reason. Could someone suggest what this might
be caused by? I am running Win XP Pro with the latest
updates and service packs installed. I have recently had
broadband installed. My computer has 128MB RAM installed.
I would appreciate any suggestions!
 
could you descriobe the problem a bit more? like at what
point after boot this happens, does it show any messages or
does it just stop responding. i ran xp on my old p2-
450/128megs of pc100 ram and it was fine. no lags no
problem. of course, program loadings were a bit lengthy, but
overall it went okay. what i mean, its not your hardware but
software that gives you trouble.
