Windows Firewall function

Hello from Japan.

I would like to disable Windows Firewall.
So I tried following two methods;
1.Not apply the component; Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing
(ICS).
2.Apply the component; Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing
(ICS), and then select "OFF" the function; Windows Firewall Settings.

However both of methods did not disable the service; Windows
Firewall/Internet
Connection Sharing (ICS).

Do you know any methods which disable the Windows Firewall?

I look for your reply.

hi Nami,

U just set the value to zero for the registry entry to disable the fire wall.

HKLM,"System\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\

FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile","EnableFirewall"

nami,

Are you saying that if you remove the "Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)" component from your image, the Windows
Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service is still running? This would be surprising since the Windows Firewall/Internet
Connection Sharing (ICS) service is a Service Data resource of the "Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)" component.

Are you sure that component doesn't get pull in by auto-dependency resolver in TD?

Read here on a few ways how you can disable the firewall in TD or at run time:

Dear KM&KSMH:

Thank you for your reply.
I unchecked "Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)"in "Core
Networking"component,
so Firewall component does not get pull in by auto-dependency resolver in TD.
If I check the Service after FBA, I see Firewall in there!
Eventhogh, "Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)" does not
exit in the component!!

Do you think slx file is damaged?

KM

nami,

Can you share your SLX with us?

Or, perhaps, you can start a new project and check if you remove the component and turn off the auto-dependency resolver the
Firewall service is still there in post FBA image.

Thank you, KM!
I tried your advice.
I started and created a new project, and run FBA again.
But still the Windows Firewall was there.
However Firewall service its self had not been running. ( Status:Null,
Startup Type:Automatic)
It looks like that if I install "Core Networking", Windows Firewall
component is automatically installed
also.
It will be a bothersome task, but I deleat Firewall service manually after
FBA.

Thank you for your advice.

nami,

I wonder if any of the following components are in your image:
Dial-Up Networking Common Libraries [Version 5.1.2600.3333, R3333], [Visibility=200]
Dial-up Server for Windows [Version 5.1.2600.2180, R2890], [Visibility=1000]
Networking Application Compatibility [Version 5.1.2600.2180, R2890], [Visibility=1000]
