Windows Firewall blocking FTP port

After the recent XP updates, my FTP program won't work unless I shut off the
Windows Firewall. Any suggestions on how to make the exceptions work
properly will be appreciated.

What updates?
If it's the SP2 patch you can configure the sp2 firewall to unblock selected
ports.
