Windows File Protection

My Event Viewer shows thousands of event logs for Windows
File Protection. Each one says something like "The system
file (filename) could not be restored to its original,
correct version." Is this something I should be concerned
about? It's a fairly new install of W2K, and there are
THOUSANDS of these event logs. Also, this may or may not
be related, when any user logs off of that machine,
explorer.exe hangs and the log-off isn't completed until
you click "End Now."

Hy,

What Windows Version and Service Pack is it? Security Patches up to date?

- Yes, maybe you should be concerned about that...

Have you tried running Start | Run | cmd | OK | cd\ | sfc /scannow with the Windows 2000 CD-ROM in the drive?

2000 SP4. It's irrelevant now, I got fed up enough that I
just reformatted and reinstalled. Thanks!
