Windows File Protection problem

Hi,

I have 2 Windows 2000 SP2 Professional PC's that are getting the same WFP
errors.

When you examine the System event log, the following event is logged:
Source: Windows File Protection
Event ID: 64033
Description: Windows File Protection could not be initialized. The specific
error code is 0xc000000f.

I have followed Microsoft's article 296241, as both of these PC's have the
exact symptoms. Still no luck??

Any suggestions?

Tks

Have you tried the following...

Open a Command Prompt and type...

SFC /scannow /quiet

Then reboot the PC.

When you attempt to use the sfc /scannow command, the command does not work,
and you receive the following error message:
Windows File Protection could not initiate a scan of protected system files.
The specific code is 0x000006ba [The RPC Server is unavailable.].

Part of the KB296241 article which I have confirmed on these PC's.

When I had that problem it was queued and when the system was rebooted the problem was
corrected.

You used the syntax I provided ?

Problem solved,

Seems KB article 296241 was close. I noticed when I imported the cerificate
in question that only 1 appeared in the Trusted Root Certificates, there
should be 6? So I imported another certificate listed in KB article
293781(Trusted Root Certificates that are required by Windows 2000...). This
time all of the 6 required certificates showed up, go figure?
Tried this on both PC's, all good.

Cheers
