Windows explorer

I have a laptop that I have 3-4 different folders on the desktop. What
happens is if I open the folder and do whatever I want to, then I close it
Internet Explorer will open a blank window. I have ran several different
scans, and looks like there is no virus. Also if I copy a folder from windows
explorer onto the desktop it will do it also, but it is just what is on the
desktop, nothing happens once I’m in windows explorer.
