2 things.
1) Is there any way I can append comments to folders in windows explorere to
give people advice about the nature of the contents of a folder

2) Is there a way I can export the filing structure and the contents of each
folder directly to a spreadsheet?

I'd think the easiest and safest way is to write a brief text file named
"01ReadMe.txt" and put one in each folder with the contents described in
that file. That's a lot of writing, of course. You could also write one
big file of all of the folders contents, put it where you want, and drag
a shortcut out to the desktop and name it "Folder Contents". Like I
said, a lot of writing if you want to do every folder/subfolder, but
it's safe, easily amendable, and as thumbnail or specific as you want it
to be.

folder directly to a spreadsheet?

Sorry, can't help you with that - others here might be able to.
