Help! Have a problem with Windows Explore in WinXP Pro.

If I right click on the Start button and click
on "Explore", the whole screen flashes, my taskbar items
mix up, and Windows Explorer never opens.

If I click on the Start button and navigate to Windows
Explorer through Accessories in Program Files, Windows
Explorer will open. However, if I try to click on any
files, the whole screen flashes, my taskbar items mix up,
and Windows Explorer closes.

What's going on and how do I fix it???
 
Have you tried installing the Service Pack 1 or update
patches from microsoft website? If not yet, try doing it
now.
