Windows Explorer Won't load

When I logon to my PC running WindowsXP Professional, the
background appears, but all desktop icon and the start
bar are gone. If I go into Task Manager I don't see
explorer.exe running. If I try to run it, it doesn't
launch. I can see all the files and directories from
another PC on my home network, but can't use explorer
from this main PC. I tried launching MS Word from Task
Manager,without a problem, but explorer.exe won't. I
even tried running System Restore and that failed as
well. HELP!!

See www.dougknox.com, Win XP Utilities, Startup Programs Tracker. This
small utility scans your system for startup programs and running processes.
It also allows you to create a log file that can be copied and pasted into a
newsgroup post. The contents of the program window are also copied to the
Windows Clipboard, automatically. For newsgroup posts, its usually not
necessary to include the running Services list. You will need to run this
utility from Task Manager, in your case.
