Windows Explorer window sometimes crashes or gets an error message

I have alot of very big files that have been created by programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator.

When I go to browse My Documents folders and images, as thumbnails, the window (the Windows explorer window) either closes down or I get a message saying 'Application error', or sometimes it's OK and it works.

The size of these images aren't that huge, and I've never had this problem before.

I have 2GB of memory, and a 3.2GHz CPU so I'm not sure what the propblem might be.
