Windows Explorer View Settings

I have never been able to retain the individual view
settings for each folder or control panel. In the
properties manager I have "remember each folders view
settings" clicked on. But it seems that whenever I go
back to a specific folder or the control panel, the view
has changed from "details" to "tiles" or the other way
around. Am I missing something?

Thanks, Lee

o Uncheck the box to remember each folder's settings.

o Then open a single Explorer window.

o Set up your favorite viewing preferences. Include the display of the
Status bar if you like it present in most/all windows.

o Click on Tools> Folder Options> View> Apply to All Folders to lock in
your preferences. Only general folders will be changed. Customized folders
(Folder Properties> Customize) will retain their customized settings.

o Now, if you like to set up a folder differently here and there, check the
box to remember each folder's settings.
