Windows Explorer very slow to load

When I open Windows Explorer with folders on the left, it initially
loads very well. I get My Computer, My Documents, etc etc etc. When
I click the plus sign to expand D: it goes well, then +Inetpub, then
+wwwroot and then it stops and waits. And waits. And waits.

If I double-click wwwroot in the listview pane, it loads immediately -
though the treeview will still be five or ten minutes before it
refreshes. I can navigate as deep into the structure as I want as
long as I use the listview pane - the treeview just takes too long to
refresh.

Any ideas what's causing this? My PC at home doesn't do it.

Work: XP Pro <-- problem
Servers: Windows Server 2003 <-- problem

Thanks!

And, an additional bit of information: it's not just the wwwroot
folder. It's any folder on the hard drive below two or three levels
deep.
