windows explorer - thumbnails error

I've got two issues with Windows Explorer.

1. Whenever I set my file view to details or thumbnails
and I click on an image, a thumbnail is not being
displayed on the left side of windows explorer.

2. Whenever I set my file view to thumbnails, it does not
display the images. It just displays the file names.

Any ideas?
