Windows explorer showing wrong incons

I previously had OpenOffice 2.1 installed and registered to handle all
of the MS Office document formats on my home PC. Over the holidays I
installed Office 2003. Windows Explorer however is still showing the
OpenOffice icons for .doc, .xls, etc. I had to manually tell explorer to
use MS Office to open those document types by selecting a file of each
type and manually choosing the appropriate MS office application to open
it (and selecting "always use the selected program to open this kind of
file"). Double clicking a file now opens it in the right application,
but the icons are still wrong. How do I get the right icons for the MS
Office files?

Have you uninstalled OpenOffice from your system? By uninstalling it
should solve the problem.

I don't want to uninstall it though. I want OOo to open files with it's
extenstions, and MSO to open files with it's extensions, and I want all
the icons to show correctly.

Thanks. I'll give that a try when I get home.

Tried it but I didn't see an "advanced" button. I had to click "restore"
which set everything back to using Open Office and also changed the
button's text to "advanced". Then I was able to click advanced and it
let me manually change the icon and manually change the associated
program. Now everything look ok.
