I am getting an occassional (one or two times a day)
error message stating that Windows Explorer Must Close.

I attempted a clean boot to try to get around this but
still get the problem (although not as often as on a
regular start).

Does anyone have any idea of why this could be occurring?

Hi!
Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer :-here you
look for application error log.
Start Computer in Safe Mode and check.
Run computer with latest virus definitioned antivirus as well as Spybot.
Update Windows as well as all the drivers.

This discussion board format is really counter
productive. You cannot see the thread when you conduct a
search. Then when you do find your old post, it doesn't
appear in the day-by-day listings. What a waste of
effort. Come on Microsoft, pay attention to your users
and make this stuff easier to use!!!!!

This is a newsgroup. It's accessible using any standard
newsreader, such as Outlook Express, which comes with Windows XP,
or nay of several others you can download. You're trying to
participate in this newsgroup by using the web-based interface,
which is far and away the slowest, clunkiest, most problem-ridden
way to do it.

Do yourself a favor and configure Outlook Express to read the
newsgroup.
