Windows Explorer:Memory could not be read

On Closing Win Explorer (XP SP2) I am getting the message:

Proxy Desktop: Explorer.EXE - Application Error
The Instruction at "0x017cfb80" referenced memory at "0x0110f238", the
memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the Program

Apart from this message Win Explorer seems to work ok. What does it mean and
how can I fix it please? (replace corrupted .dll file etc?)
PS, others are also experiencing this problem (posted to 'Windows XP
Performance and Maintainance'), but no real solutions yet.
