Windows Explorer Left Pane will not refresh.....

I know others have experienced this bug; and I have tried their fixes but to no avail. When you are working in Windows Explorer, and are scanning removable disks for instance, the left pane does not refresh when you hit F5 after inserting a new disk. The directory tree on left pane stays as it was on the former disk. The only way to solve this is to close Explorer and restart it; which is a major pain in the rear and time consuming. I have tried the repairing of IE6 and have searched my registry for the values others have posted elsewhere; but the problem still exists. If MS still supports Win2kPro, why haven't they addressed this issue? Supposedly it is fixed in XP, but like a lot of people I can't afford the upgrade.

So how about some help, Bill???????
